Credit Card Declined / Bad Credit

If your credit card is declined, Record Auctions will notify you by phone or e-mail within 24 hours of your order. As a courtesy, orders may be held up to one week; however, there may be times when a declined order is immediately cancelled and given to the next bidder.

NOTE: Cancelled orders cannot be reinstated. Multiple and/or periodic occurrences of this situation may result in account termination at Record Auctions.

Payment and Sales Tax

All winning bids are captured in Canadian dollars on a VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. Record Auctions charges sales tax on all applicable orders. All successful bidders will receive a confirmation e-mail from Record Auctions that outlines the transaction process. If a credit card is declined for any reason, Record Auctions will attempt to contact the buyer via phone and /or e-mail.

Fraud

It is a violation of the law to make bids under a false name or with an invalid credit card. If you intentionally place false bids on Record Auctions, you put yourself at substantial personal legal risk and may be subject to criminal charges. Fraudulent bidders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Similarly, attempting to participate using a false name will also subject you to personal legal risk.

Any user who attempts to "cheat" the bidding system by altering or tampering with the course of normal bidding, or by editing bids for the purpose of altering bids or prices in a manner in which it was not intended, may have their bids canceled and their account immediately suspended at the sole discretion of Record Auctions, criminal charges, notwithstanding.

Auction and Fixed Price Changes

Record Auctions reserves the right to terminate at any time and without notice any auctions or fixed price sales in the event Record Auctions, in its sole discretion, deems them: (1) to be overtly inflammatory, controversial, or offensive to our members; (2) to display evidence of fraudulent or illegal listing information or bidding activity; or (3) violate any of the rules, guidelines, and terms and conditions of this site. Record Auctions also reserves the right to change posted quantities, remove from sale or re-offer items that were previously withdrawn. Record Auctions also reserves the right to close auctions early or to extend auctions at any time and at Record Auctions's discretion. Posted closing times and displays of Record Auctions's current time are approximate and based on Eastern Standard Time or Eastern Daylight Time.

System Availability

Record Auctions reserves the right to modify or discontinue the site with or without notice to its members. Record Auctions shall not be liable to any member, vendor or buyer, in tort or in contract, should Record Auctions exercise its right to modify or discontinue the site. Record Auctions makes every effort to maintain 100% system availability, except during scheduled maintenance periods. Should we experience technical difficulties, we are not responsible for bids that are not processed or accepted.

Bid Reinstatement

Record Auctions keeps track of all unsuccessful bids. If a problem occurs with a winning bid in an open auction, Record Auctions may reinstate your currently unsuccessful bid to winning status at your last bid price. Bid reinstatement procedure is based on the next highest unsuccessful bid sequence.

Changing Credit Card on Auction Orders

The credit card you want to use for the auction, MUST be correct prior to winning the item.

If you change your credit card after winning an auction, it will not take effect. You must e-mail Customer Service at [email protected] or call 519-895-5687 or 1-800-210-5210 (toll free) prior to your orders release date.
